7/30/21 – BRP

Well……… it has been a challenging past 2 weeks. We received 4” rain in 72 hours 7/22-7/25. This set us back a few days. We’ve been able to get back on track a little this week. Landscapes Unlimited is committed to still making the significant completion date Sept 3rd. They have added several more employees and will bring more in if necessary to make the completion date yet.  We completed hole #1 on 7/27 and have completed portions of #8 and #18 as of today. We hope to finish 8,9, and 18 by the end of next week. Which will give us 11 complete holes through sod. That will give us 7 holes to complete in 4 weeks which should be attainable, weather permitting. #10, and #11, and #12 are currently being shaped. On a bright note...not a single new complete bunker washed out during the storms. This was a major test for the new bunkers and the drainage and they performed very well.

G&G completed all aerification of fairways, roughs, approaches, and tees the week of 7/19 just in time for the rain. We spent another few days cleaning the golf course up again this week. We have begun dethatching the tees, approaches, and fairways this week. Due to storm clean up we were not able to finish, but hope to finish next week. G&G continues to top-dress the sod around the new bunkers in order to mend the new sod to the existing turf. We’ve used about 500 tons of sand so far to top-dress sod. G&G will continue the desert vegetation next week. We are currently working on the #16th tee. The storms have definitely put a large dent into our in-house projects. The desert area on #5 tee is still drying out and we will fix up the area once we can get equipment in. Once again, the drainage retention work that was completed in 2016 on #4,5,7 worked perfectly as containing the damage of 4” of rain coming off Pinnacle Peak Road.
