Cody Horstman - Director of Agronomy

Cody earned his Bachelor of Science degree in horticulture from Iowa State University.  He worked for two years as the Assistant Director of Agronomy at The Boulders, overseeing the South course. Cody then moved to Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club, where he was the superintendent for 36 holes as well as the large HOA development.  During his time there, Cody had an opportunity to host several high-profile tournaments including two LPGA events, three Arizona Opens, and the Arizona Senior Open.  After 7 years at Superstition, Cody accepted the Superintendent position at Pinnacle Peak Country Club in September 2014. Cody lives in Mesa with his wife and 5 children.

Alex Richards - Senior Assistant Superintendent

Hi, my name is Alex Richards. I have been in the turf industry for 11 years now with the drive and intention of becoming a golf course superintendent. I started my turf career right after graduating from high school in San Antonio, Texas. Where I spent 4 years at Hyatt hill country and Resort learning the basics of course maintenance. I moved out to Phoenix, Arizona in September of 2016 working out of TPC Scottsdale as an operator level 2. I had the pleasure of mowing back 9 tees for the 2017 WMO. I have since then been in a few different courses learning and growing in my turf career while going to school for turf grasses management through the University of Georgia.    

Jose Acuna - Equipment Manager

Jose joined the PPCC team in August of 2021. Upon the retirement of Jim Pratt after 35 years of service, Jose was promoted to Equipment Manager in March of 2022. Prior to joining the PPCC team, Jose was the Head Mechanic at Briarwood CC. Jose enjoys time with his children and cheering on his Pittsburgh Steelers.
